W mediach ostatnio pojawia się coraz więcej informacji o nowym wirusie, który pojawił się w Chinach w miejscowości Wuhan. Informacje te docierają do nas zarówno z mediów australijskich jak i polskich, chociaż te drugie są dużo bardziej panikujące. Wirus rozprzestrzenił się już po wielu krajach całego świata. Aktualnie w Australii wykryto 5 przypadków zarażenia wirusem, a w Singapurze do którego zmierzamy kolejnych 7. To trochę zrozumiałe, od tego zależy ich los. A najłatwiej zatrzymać kogoś przy materiale grając na emocjach. W związku z tym rozsiewają panikę, a dalej my sami rozkręcamy resztę. Czasem pojawi się jakiś fake news, który później w kolejnym materiale się sprostuje i nic się nie stanie. Przecież nikt ich nie rozliczy. Także wiemy, że telewizja kłamie, więc my nie wierzymy w ich ani jeden materiał. Sami zbieramy fakty, z których tworzymy sobie swój własny obraz.

Jakie są więc fakty?

Aktualnie do 29.01 potwierdzone zostały 6072 przypadki zarażenia koronawirusem na całym świecie z czego najwięcej, bo aż 5994 w Chinach. Z tych 6072 przypadków zarażenia, zmarły 132 osoby. To śmiertelność na poziomie 2,2%, czyli mniej niż grypa, która zabija 13% chorych. Do tego wszystkie przypadki śmiertelne na razie wystąpiły tylko na terenie Chin. Nie odnotowano ani jednego śmiertelnego przypadku na terenie innych krajów. Może to kwestia przypadku, a może kwestia odpowiedniej higieny i opieki medycznej. Dodatkowo wiadomo, że w Melbourne udało się odtworzyć w warunkach laboratoryjnych tego wirusa co (podobno) przybliża nas do opracowania odpowiedniej szczepionki.
